At the beginning of the year while in worship I became very aware of the war that is happening in the spirit that is set up to confuse, intimidate, spread lies and instil fear in this nation, especially to those that believe in Jesus.
As I continued to worship I clearly heard the Lord say, “It’s Time to Build!” If you’re anything like me you have probably heard that prophesied many times over the years?!
I found my heart respond with a yes, and I instinctively knew that in the ‘building’, the plans of the enemy would be dismantled. I found myself asking the question, “God, what exactly are we building?!”
He led me to these two scriptures:
Zechariah 4:8-10
Also the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house, and his hands will finish it. Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you. For who has despised the day of small things? But these seven will be glad when they see the PLUMB LINE in the hand of Zerubbabel—these are the eyes of the Lord which range to and fro throughout the earth.”
Zechariah 8:3
Thus says the Lord, ‘I will return to Zion and willdwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the City ofTruth, and the mountain of the Lord of hosts will be called the Holy Mountain.’
Here Zechariah is encouraging Zerubbabel to continue to build the house of the Lord. Out of these verses God’s emphasis to me was that the seven – Spirits of God – were glad when they saw the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand. A plumb line is used to keep building work straight and true. Stone upon stone was laid straight; creating a sturdy, reliable structure that everything could rest within.
The gladness was over Zerubbabel wanting to build CONTINUOUSLY with TRUE and exact measurements and levels in the natural, reflecting his heart to also want to perfectly, spiritually align to God and His true nature and purposes! Zerubbabel was a consecrated one, building true!
God also quickened to me that the City of Truth that they were building represents us as individuals, and what He is breathing on right now.
The Lord said to me, “I am your PLUMB LINE, the standard of truth! I am the place from which you WEIGH everything. I am the place from which you DISCERN. I am where you get your UNDERSTANDING. I am how you learn to give and receive TRUE LOVE. I am where you find the TRUTH and the SOLUTION to every problem. Fix your eyes on Me and I will show you life transforming ABSOLUTES!”
It’s a call to intimacy with the one who knows all things! A beautiful invitation into His heart and TRUTH!
We have shied away from absolutes and been lenient in accepting ‘my truth’ and ‘your truth’ in fear of offending, but God requires absolutes and truthful solutions! He wants to be our plumb line and build us up as a City of Truth so that many can RUN INTO the SAFETY and REFUGE of its walls! It will be just like those who turned to the Lord when the building work was complete in Jerusalem because they could clearly see that the Lord was with them!
The invitation is extended, “Come and build a City of Truth with Me!”
