Marching to His drum

Susie Ruehlemann – South Australian Prophetic Voice

In a very recent dream, I was with my eldest daughter and we saw a worship band entertaining a large crowd. One band member, was front and centre stage, playing their own beat on a bongo drum. The music was very flat and out of tune. The worship leader was droning the same lyrics over and over…

“The church keeps going around the mountain, the church keeps going around the mountain.”

This is a wake up call for the Body of Christ. This is not a time to be marching to the beat of its own drum. Doing this will keep many at the base, going around the mountain in circles and cycles instead of ascending high into the mountain of the Lord.

It is not Gods will for His church to be peddled for entertainment, nor for His body to be controlled; trapped in the religious doctrine and rituals the multitudes follow, that are not of the Lord but of man. In Matthew 15:8-9, Jesus quotes the Prophet Isaiah saying, “These people honour Me only with their words, for their hearts are so very distant from Me. They pretend to worship Me,  but their worship is nothing more than the empty traditions of men.”

Colossians 1:18 clearly states that He is the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything He might have the supremacy.

We have been commissioned by the Most High God to do greater works. Full surrender to the will of the Lord, will posture our hearts to receive the heavenly strategies and blueprints to fulfil that commission. King David received Gods blueprints, and in wisdom he modelled out a pattern for us to follow.  In 2 Samuel 5:17-25, he waited and listened for the Lords signal to advance. He did not move his army until he heard the marching of the Lords army in the top of the mulberry trees. Out of his relationship with the Lord and his obedience to listen to His sound, David received the victory for Israel.

The Lord is walking in the midst of the church; (the seven golden lamp stands), holding the seven stars (the angels of the seven churches), in His right hand. He has a sharp two-edged sword and He is discerning the thoughts and intents of the hearts of those representing Him.

First and foremost the church must hear His call to return to her first love, for it is out of that place of intimacy and oneness with the Lord that the body of Christ will discern the perfect will of the Head. “Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lamp stand from its place—unless you repent.” Revelation 2:4-5

The church cannot afford to be lukewarm in this hour. The Lord will vomit out of His mouth, a lukewarm, blind, barren and naked church.

The Lord is calling His church higher, to arise and ascend the mountain with clean hands and a pure heart, and this involves a process of full submission, yielding to God and following His ways. “So the one whose heart is open, let him listen carefully to what the Spirit is now saying to the churches.” Revelation 3:22 TPT
